We think that the so-called "cranial nerve diseases" are easily perceived as generally serious illnesses, and moreover, that most people see surgery in that area as an extremely delicate and desperate procedure. However, even with benign brain tumors and without ruptured cerebral aneurysms, there are also lots of patients who would benefit from regular examinations without surgery. There are also the technique of hitting only the ill part with a lot of radiation ( stereotactic radiosurgery ) and the technique of treatment from inside major blood vessels ( endovascular treatment ) whose therapeutic value surpass of the operation of opening the skull ( craniotomy ) Also, for craniotomy too, we now use a technique that consider thoroughly the appearance after the operation. In our opinion, the impact on the body's and the safety are as important as the therapeutic value of surgery. We propose treatment strategies taking into account, not only the patient medical condition but also his living environment. Our hospital is equipped with special machines required to carry out surgery safely and reliably such as surgical navigators ( Stealth Station ) and neuroendoscope ( EndoArm ). We created an environment that can provide highly specialized medical care, with the help of specialists from the Neurosurgery department of Osaka University and related facilities, if necessary.
