What types of pathological examination are there?

1. histopathologic examination (biopsy)

Samples(tissue sample/prepared slide) that can be examined with a microscope by a clinical laboratory technologist including the gastric mucosa samples taken during a gastroscopy; samples taken with a needle during a breast ultrasonography and prostate ultrasound; cervix samples taken using forceps during a gynecological examination are created, and a diagnosis is made using the images.

2.histopathologic examination (surgical material)

Multiple tissue samples are created from the organ (tumor) extracted in the surgery and postoperative details are retrieved by examining the tumor size/progression/lymph node metastasis and whether or not the cancer was completely removed.

3. cytotechnology examination

Whether a tumor is benign/malignant, whether to progress to the next examination, and whether there are any problematic observations are determined by rubbing a cotton swab on the cervix, absorbing cells by sticking a needle in the mammary gland and examining the extracted cells.
The samples are examined in detail by a cytotechnologist and issues are examined together with a specialized cytotechnologist before reporting the results.

4. pathological anatomy

It is the task of Pathology to grasp the medical condition of those who died in order to put it to use in the education of young doctors and future medical treatment.
The family of the deceased will be asked to cooperate by their primary doctor.
A qualified pathologist will conduct the actual autopsy.
Concerning the examinations above, the clinical laboratory technologist who prepares the samples and conducts cytology also play an extremely important role.
Quality samples are essential in conducting an accurate pathology diagnosis.
